That’s right, it’s official! As Rectify Gaming originally reported on the leak (and later took down after an ask by Fanta/Coca-Cola), we can now confirm straight from Fanta that the collaboration is happening. Today August 27th, Universal Pictures/ BlumHouse and Fanta officially announced their global partnership by dropping five limited-edition cans featuring some of the most infamous horror icons ahead of spooky season. This isn’t just a seasonal flavor drop, it’s a full-on takeover featuring character-driven cans, exclusive experiences, and even a brand-new haunting flavor.

At the core of the lineup is “Chucky’s Punch,” a fruit punch flavoured, limited-time-only can that marks the killer doll’s first starring role in the soda world. Alongside him, horror fans will find The Grabber from The Black Phone haunting Fanta Strawberry, Freddy Fazbear from Five Nights at Freddy’s fronting Orange and Orange Zero Sugar, and the legendary Michael Myers slashing his way onto Fanta Pineapple. Together, they’re rallying around one sinister craving: They Wanta Fanta.

But this Halloween collection doesn’t just stop at Chucky, Freddy, The Grabber, and Michael Myers. For the first time ever, M3GAN joins the party too, appearing on limited-edition Fanta Grape, available exclusively in Coca-Cola Freestyle machines across select U.S. cinemas and Universal theme parks. The expansion makes this the largest horror-icon crossover Fanta has ever attempted, combining cult classics with Blumhouse’s rising new nightmares.

The partnership was designed to line up with a big horror-heavy year for Universal. Following the release of M3GAN 2.0 this summer, Blumhouse will unleash The Black Phone 2 on October 17 and Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 on December 5. By connecting its soft drink lineup with horror’s most anticipated films, Fanta is positioning this as the must-have drink of the spooky season.

Beyond packaging, Fanta is rolling out interactive experiences both in-person and digitally. Fans who scan the QR codes on cans will unlock exclusive content featuring each horror icon, offering more lore, surprises, and digital tie-ins in the run-up to Halloween. According to Coca-Cola, from September through October, fans should expect to see these characters showing up everywhere Fanta does, from vending machines and retailers to factory activations and even Universal’s own parks.

Ibrahim Salim Khan, Global VP of Fanta at The Coca-Cola Company, explains the vision clearly: “Fanta promises deliciousness, and only deliciousness. What better occasion to have a little fun with that, than Halloween? The festival of tricks and treats. The one time of the year where your deepest cravings resurrect. This Halloween, in a delicious, thrilling partnership with Universal Pictures and Blumhouse, we will bring back the most legendary horror icons for the first time ever. They’re back. But they’re not here to haunt you. They just… Wanta Fanta.”

Fanta has experimented with seasonal and limited-edition flavors before, but this marks the brand’s boldest crossover to date. Bringing together villains from different franchises under one umbrella taps into both nostalgia and modern pop culture hype. It’s the kind of event drop that feels as collectible as it does consumable, with cans likely to end up on shelves of horror collectors just as much as in Halloween party coolers.

And if you’re wondering how rare certain characters will be, here’s the breakdown: Michael Myers’ Fanta Pineapple is a U.S.-exclusive, while M3GAN’s Grape cans are locked to Freestyle machines in select U.S. cinemas and Universal parks. That means fans who want to complete the set will need to hunt a little harder, adding a collectible layer to the campaign.

From the sounds of it, you won’t be able to escape these icons throughout the season. Whether you’re stocking up for Halloween night or simply chasing down Chucky’s Punch, this collection promises to make horror season taste sweeter. Just don’t let the monsters get to the cans before you do.
