The world of Dragon Ball continues to evolve even as of late. The games in particular find new heights even as of late. In 2024, players were met with the release of Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero – a successor to the previous ‘Budokai Tenkaichi’ series. It sold over 3 million units within the first 24 hours. And, the game was later ported to Nintendo Switch & Nintendo Switch 2 the following year.
Additionally, there is also Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. The 2020 RPG also faced continued support well into 2026. The game just this past week welcomed a new DLC to the full game. Add-on ‘DAIMA: Adventure Through the Demon Realm – Part 2’ arrived delivering a continuation for the content that came back in summer 2025.
Now this weekend, Bandai Namco revealed that a new title is in the works. As part of a unannounced project with work from the late Akira Toriyama, Bandai Namco revealed Dragon Ball project ‘Age 1000’. You can watch the announcement trailer in the video below:
“A brand-new Dragon Ball world and its entirely original characters—all brought to life by Akira Toriyama,” the letterhead on X reveals. “Witness the debut of a never-before-seen character—designed by Akira Toriyama himself—within the new Dragon Ball world, ‘AGE 1000.’ And that’s not all—the “AGE 1000” project will introduce even more unique characters as the adventure unfolds.”
Gathered from the light details regarding the new project, it follows a new original character set years well beyond the storyline of Goku and other Dragon Ball characters. Bandai Namco also confirmed that new information will be shared later this spring during Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 on April 18th & 19th.
