When the Nintendo Switch 2 launched, one of the letdowns was that you couldn’t use the YouTube app on the console yet. It is one of the very few media apps available on the Switch, so it was unknown if Google would even consider putting the app on the Switch 2.
According to a new rumor, YouTube could be arriving on Nintendo Switch 2 in the month of February. This comes from Koytek Wattenberg Media, where they mention the information was supposedly provided by a mod for the official YouTube Discord.
It’s possible this could be announced during the reported Nintendo Partner Direct on Thursday, February 5, 2026. However, these events are usually exclusive to video games coming to the Switch platform.
Interestingly, the Hulu app for Switch is being discontinued this Thursday as well. This was expected since Disney is making a new app experience for the service.
Do you think the Switch 2 needs more media apps?
