Kingdom Hearts 3 was announced during Sony’s E3 2013 press conference and 3 years later development is still going well. Tetsuya Nomura made it clear there’s no cause for alarm regarding Kingdom Hearts 3’s development.

The other game we are working on, Kingdom Hearts 3, is coming along steadily. There are new worlds in which you can run, jump… I’m very excited about moving Sora around in the wider space with his higher range of maneuverability,” said Nomura-san.

We still are not sure when the game will be released, but you gotta think in the near future we will hear something about a release date in 2017 hopefully. In early 2017 will see the launch of Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, which includes a high-definition version of Dream Drop Distance plus the all-new Back Cover and A Fragmentary Passage. Maybe we hear something at PlayStation Experience soon.
The Kingdom Hearts franchise has sold over 25 million copies worldwide as of October 2013.
