As the industry have already witnessed just last week with the major partnership between console giants Microsoft and Sony, now it seems to only be one of the few that have been revealed. Announced by Marvel that the publishing company will be collaborating with Chinese internet firm NetEase that opens new opportunities for different forms of media for the two companies.
In detail, revealing that the two will be able to pursue new means of entertainment such as film & television, literature, and even video games. The primary focus being on interactive media, this means that the most will come out of the newly formed partnership as we already look ahead.
Benefitting NetEase as the company continues to grab any holding of western entertainment to bring to China, and Marvel as the East is a market the company has yet to really tap into compared to other markets like Europe and the Americas.
Following the news from the recent announcement, neither Marvel nor NetEase have shared what plans the two have planned for in the future as of writing this. Seeing the ambitions of more titles coming to China the past year with help from NetEase, it looks that the company could be aiming to nab releases for large Marvel titles like Marvel’s Spider-Man and Crystal Dynamics Avengers in China.
Previously, NetEase made a small acquisition on French studio Quantic Dreams back in January which is breaking the developers titles out of exclusivity on Sony’s platform with releases for other hardware.
