More than a year ago now, Hasbro alongside video game developer Lionsgate Games revealed that the Power Rangers will be receiving their own suited fighting game, Battle for the Grid. Featuring a handful of iconic characters from the series alongside recognized vistas for the slew of different stages to fight on, fans of the ongoing franchise should be happy for what’s to come.
What made the game even more exciting is that the then-upcoming title would also feature cross-platform play. Except, this would not complete cross-play: the game would only include the feature between Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
Now it was announced this week that the March-released title would be receiving the V2.0 update which would issue complete cross-play to the game, this time including PlayStation 4 to the party. You can watch the update trailer for the game below:
This looks to be a symptom of what was settled over at Sony Interactive Entertainment as it was revealed back in October that all supported games on the PlayStation 4 are now compatible for cross-play integration with other competing platforms, including Xbox One. Since then, we have witnessed an epidemic of more games follow suit the announcement.
Dissecting the description of the video also discloses that atop of players being able to interact with friends on different systems, that cross-progression will also be supported the same day that the update launched.
Have you picked up Battle for the Grid since the game launched?
Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid is out now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Nintendo Switch for $19.99.
