The upcoming sequel to Mandragora’s Skyhill is now upon us as the Russian developer has announced that the Black Mist will be shipping to PC on Steam later this month. Going off the basis of the titular 2015 title, Black Mist expands on the concept of the survival thriller genre as the team breaks the barrier to the third dimension this time around.
Alongside the new appearance inherited for the game, Skyhill: Black Mist will also introduce a new scenario as Skyhill has been morphed into a commercial condominium offering a range of diverse settings bouncing from housing to restaurants and the compressed packing garage at the feet of the building. Players will also be introduced to a new layer of stealth that users can approach which was not available in the preceding title.
This month, Mandragora shared that Steam users can expect Skyhill: Black Mist to arrive in the latter of May. Even more, the team also disclosed that the respected console version will be shipping sometime in the summer later down the line. The studio also shared some elements that have yet to be revealed in the latest announcement.
Those, who are familiar with the original game, remember how we like to twist the plot lines. In SKYHILL: Black Mist we have not only repeated this approach, but we’ve brought it to yet another level. It’s not just a survival game but a complicated and intriguing story, which you’d have to investigate yourself.
During this year’s PAX East in Boston, Rectify Gaming took the time to demo Skyhill: Black Mist and discuss some of the game’s traits with publisher Klabater. Upon the visually tangible elements that you see at first glance, it was revealed that the follow-up entry emphasizes on player freedom. Not only does the perspective revitalize the experience, but the options to decide how you approach each situation is what makes the game unique.
Community Manager Bartosz Slodownik shares that Mandragora aimed to make a more ambitious experience for the successor for the initial game. Strategy can also play a part between being stealthy or obnoxious against enemies; even trailing foes into traps is a considered tactic also. You can read the full feature by heading here.
