Nostalgic fans who have been capitalizing on the recent trio of remade games from the PlayStation 1 era are in for a treat: more games alike are scheduled to release this year alongside the following future. Activision revealed the news in their annual earnings call with investors which disclose that more projects of that metric are currently in development to release later on.

As of now there are only three titles that have received a complete reimagining of their two decade-old appearance: Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, Spyro Reignited Trilogy, and Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled.

However, when it comes to more projects to follow suit the three that have spawn commercial success for the publisher, it is expected that smaller entries and even other intellectual properties altogether will be next to receive the respected remake. Here is the full statement made during the conference call:

Stay tuned for some future announcements, but beyond pure remasters there are a lot of opportunities now to innovate and think about totally new content within these IPs.

Bobby Kotick, Activision CEO

Although the Activision Chief Executive Officer does state that there will be remasters to some extent paved for the future, it is noteworthy to mention that not all release projects will be a rework like we already experience. Perhaps he implies that the properties aligned with this topic could receive even new installment later on for newer hardware possibly.

Reflecting back to the previous earnings call during the summer of 2019, Activision already told to share some interest to reinvigorate pre-existing franchises alike what has been done for Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon. So atop of this now being validated to arrive later on, this leaves room to suggest that Activision has been working internally to properly execute the remasters and potential new entries since then.

What classic Activision titles would you like to see be remastered next?
