Yuji Naka notoriously known for working on the original Sonic titles back in the early 90s along with others such as Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg and Nights Into Dreams is now joining Square Enix.
Working at Sega until 2006 where he started his own company Probe and created Let’s Tap for the Wii in 2008. Originally released in Japan with a cardboard box to tap when playing, but later scrapped the idea when releasing in North America in 2009, but Europe still got the box bundled when released the same day as NA.
Today Naka tweeted that he will be joining Square Enix and plans to “develop an enjoyable game”.
Just a quick note to let you know, I joined SQUARE ENIX in January.
I’m joining game development as before, and strive to develop games at SQUARE ENIX.
I aim to develop an enjoyable game, please look forward to it.— Yuji Naka / 中 裕司 (@nakayuji) January 22, 2018
