ORIGINAL: Gearbox Publishing San Francisco known for publishing the Remnant series, Star Trek Online, Neverwinter and others has officially changed its name to Arc Games. The announcement was shared on April 8, 2024, in a press release.
“We’re very excited to announce that we are now Arc Games! We’re the same team of passionate gamers that brought you many beloved franchises including the Remnant series, Have a Nice Death, Star Trek Online, and Neverwinter. And we can’t wait to bring you even more exciting titles like Gigantic: Rampage Edition, Hyper Light Breaker, and more soon-to-be announced games for 2025 and beyond!”
When Take-Two acquired Gearbox Entertainment from Embracer Group it did not acquire Gearbox Publishing so it was left to Embracer to do something with the publishing company. The Arc Games rebrand comes just two weeks after the $460 million acquisition.
2K also announced that Gearbox Entertainment is in active development of the next Borderlands game. There is still no sign of when that project will be announced or released.
