The trajectory of Grasshopper Manufacture/Suda51 has been on an incline in recent time. With the developer’s acquisition by NetEase Games in 2021, there has been an influx of titles rolling out. Titles like Lollipop Chainsaw RePop as well as Shadows of the Damned is already here for fans looking to revisit beloved releases of before.

Additionally, Killer7 is another Suda is confident will return. In one interview last year, Suda explained that a complete edition is very likely to appear to some capacity – likely for the latest consoles. Atop of that, Suda is also partnering with Swery65 on a new low budget, action platformer, Hotel Barcelona. But despite promising a 2024 release, the game is still cooking as of writing.

At the recent PlayStation State of Play this week, Grasshopper Manufacture made an appearance. And aiming for next year, its new IP ‘Romeo Is A Dead Man’ is to arrive. You can watch the reveal trailer in the video below:

“Super bloody action, crazy twists and turns to blow players’ minds, and a whole mess of kinda-stereotypical gimmicks – all rolled into one wild ride. Our hero Romeo Stargazer is a man stuck between life and death. His own was saved mere seconds before the end by way of a time paradox that shattered the space-time continuum, which was created by a genius scientist screwing around,” the synopsis reads.

“Now, Romeo is FBI Space-Time special agent ‘Dead Man’, and sporting a rad mask called Dead Gear, must hunt space-time’s most wanted fugitives through multiple universes! […] Romeo swaps between guns and swords, using his enemies’ own power against them to absolutely annihilate the evil hordes in this peak example of full-on bloody action, featuring ridiculously clever level design in which you’ll be jumping back and forth between the real world subspace, and white-hot battles cathartic enough to collapse the universe itself!”

How excited are you to see more of Romeo Is A Dead Man?

Romeo Is A Dead Man is listed to ship in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
