The Nintendo Switch has been doing pretty good so far in its first few weeks. It is on pace to be the best selling Nintendo console since the Wii back 10 years ago and now they are expected to ship 20 million Switch’s by the end of the year, according to Taiwan-based supply chain makers, adding that they have a conservative estimate of shipping at least 10 million units in the first year. Nintendo president Kimishima Tatsumi also recently said that he expects Switch’s overall sales to reach 110 million units.
Switch’s manufacturing is handled by Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) and Japan-based Misumi Electronics and Hosiden with Foxconn supplying over 50% of the volume. Foxconn makes the device at its plants in Shandong, China.
It’ll be an interesting year for Nintendo with Fils-Aime saying they will have a big E3 this year in an interview with Fox News. Who knows what could happen next.
