During The Game Awards on December 7, 2023, SEGA made a surprise announcement that they are bringing back classics like Jet Set Radio, Crazy Taxi, Shinobi, and others. The company didn’t go too much into detail about the projects they are working on and never shared the other set of SEGA classics that will return.
According to Insider Gaming, the following SEGA games are set to make their return:
Panzer Dragoon
Neon genesis Evangelion
Sakura Taisan
The outlet mentioned that at least 10 SEGA classics were greenlit for production between 2020 and 2021. Tom Henderson also shares that Panzer Dragoon, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Sakura Taisan “will all have new games and are in their early stages of development”.
That would make 8 SEGA games confirmed to make a return so that means two more remain if there is at least ten classics coming back.
In December, SEGA filed more legacy trademarks for Kid Chameleon, Eternal Champions, Altered Beast, Alex Kidd, After Burner, House of the Dead, Outrun, and Super Monkey Ball.
