Since the launch of Apex Legends, players questioned the developer choice to only group players of three to drop in the new battle royale. Maybe it was to be different? Maybe to balance player interactivity due to the size of the map? The reason is left unknown, but we soon accepted that decision and continued playing as the game continued to evolve. Later in August, Respawn Entertainment announced that the game will receive its first solos mode for a limited time back in King’s Canyon.
Witnessing the mayhem that was from the event and moving forward to the latest World’s Edge, Respawn looks to be experimenting with another player count adjustment. While the currently ongoing Fight or Fright Halloween event is still in effect for Apex Legends which offers the Shadowfall solos mode, Respawn looks to introduce duos to the battle royale for the first time.
Announcing that staring this coming Tuesday on November 5, teams of two will be dropping into World’s Edge to mix up the traditional trios we are accustomed to.

However, while players can sample the Apex legends experience with an extra mate, this event does not look to offer any additional goodies for participating; at least for right now that is. When solos were introduced, Respawn hosted the Iron Crown Collection event, but duos is currently left unlabeled upon reporting the announcement. If it is later, players can expect to see a exclusive line of in-game items to unlock only during the set time frame for the event. Respawn also failed to reveal when this event will actually end, but it is expected duos will close in two weeks from this Tuesday alike prior events.
In other recent Apex Legends news, it was revealed through Electronic Arts’ latest financial report that the battle royale has earned a lengthy 70 million players since initially launching back in February.
