Around that time, there was also a separate mobile game scheduled to launch in Japan holding as a prequel to the 2018 release. Now, Octopath Traveler is receiving the same treatment thanks to Google.

In a new announcement made today, Octopath Traveler has abruptly launched for Stadia. You can watch the full announcement trailer in the video below:

Divided between eight different protagonists with their own stories to tell, Octopath Traveler offers an extensive experience that players can indulge in multiple times to truly get the full experience. This happens to follow the already existing relationship that has been established between Google and Square Enix as titles like Crystal Dynamics’ current Tomb Raider trilogy, Final Fantasy XV, and the approaching Marvel’s Avengers.

In separate announcements made today, Google also shared that PUBG Corp.’s PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will also be arriving today to the streaming platform. The game will also be an addition to the Stadia Pro lineup and offers specialized Stadia cosmetics with the new version releasing. The tech giant in collaboration with Electronic Arts also announced that Madden, FIFA, and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will be arriving to the platform later this year; read the full report here.

Seeing that the game previously surpassed 1.5 million unit sales on the Nintendo Switch since dropping back in July of last year, it isn’t that much of a surprise that the game is receiving a port to PC in the coming months. Unlike the original version being published by Square Enix Japan, the upcoming PC port will be published by Bandai Namco which is common for the publisher to fund title in Korea for Square Enix.

Alongside the landmark achievement for Octopath’s sales, Square Enix has also revealed that a mobile prequel is currently being developed for iOS and Android. Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent will be a free title for mobile users in Japan later in 2019.

Octopath Traveler as of now is only available on Nintendo Switch.
