Ubisoft announced that it has shelved plans for a live-action series based on the Driver franchise which hasn’t seen a new game since Driver: San Francisco in 2011. It was announced in 2021 that a Driver live-action series was in the works with streaming service Binge.
The company recently told Game File the project is no longer moving forward.
“We are no longer moving forward with our partnership with Binge for a Driver series,” Ubisoft told the outlet.

Despite the Driver TV series being scrapped, Ubisoft did confirm they still have plans for the series.
“We are actively working on other exciting projects related to the franchise and can’t wait to share more information in the future”
Driver games started in 1999 when it was available for PlayStation and PC. It has been 13 years since Driver: San Francisco released and it’s safe to say fans of the series have been waiting long enough.
Ubisoft has quietly been getting involved with TV and Films as of late with Watch Dogs getting a movie in the future with filming for that project already underway. It wouldn’t be a bad idea for the publisher to get more of its IP involved with movies or series like they attempted to with Driver.
