Prior to last month’s DC Fandome which came and went blowing fans of DC Comics and the related mediums of entertainment away, there also happened to be some suggested rumors disclosing that new titles were underway disregarding the more evident announcements. While Warner Bros. Montreal revealed Gotham Knights and Rocksteady Studios shared the trailer for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, one game did not make the spotlight as we would have hoped.
That title being Injustice 3, many followers of the series grew very hopeful as there were whispers suggesting it would be debuted at the late August show. The claim spruced from NetherRealm Studios head Ed Boon who shared to be attending the virtual presentation. But with reasons as to what is would be for was left undetermined, fans swiftly speculated the third installment for the series was a likely candidate.
But of course, that expectation did not become a reality. However, that does not mean there is not room for a new potential project to be revealed. That happens to come from Ed Boon himself on Twitter who issued some hope for waiting fans.
While it certainly does not verify the game to definitely be Injustice 3, it does leave room for fans to gather their thoughts for the time being. Already acknowledging that NetherRealm Studios shipped Mortal Kombat 11 last April, it is a safe guess to presume the net project is not another Mortal Kombat installment this soon.
NetherRealm Studios most recently shipped the Aftermath story expansion for Mortal Kombat 11. The add-on comes as a surprise as the developer never took this approach to the series in the history of Mortal Kombat. You can read the full report by heading here.
What are you hoping to be the new announcement from NetherRealm Studios in the coming future?
