More than half a decade ago, Kojima Productions shook the video game industry as founder Hideo Kojima officially cut ties with Konami. Despite the strong relationship with the publisher on IPs such as Silent Hill and Metal Gear, the developer went on to stand as an independent game studio. The first project from the team was Death Stranding which launch as a PlayStation exclusive at the time.

However, moving forward it is suggested that Kojima Productions is working to make a new game on Xbox. At least, that’s what is being claimed. Last year, GamesBear’s Jeff Grubb told that Kojima signed a letter of intent for a new project for the Xbox platform. Elsewhere, claims continue to linger with Kojima Productions & Sony Interactive Entertainment working on an unannounced Silent Hill project in the pipeline.

On Twitter, Kojima posted an image of PlayStation Studios this week which many considered to be a hinting at studio’s acquisition to be a first-party studio for the platform. But, he later disclosed that the initial tweet does not confirm anything as Kojima Productions is not on the market.

Perhaps, Kojima is hinting at the previous report between his team and the PlayStation firm? According to a source that spoke with credible Japanese-focused outlet Gematsu, the two are collaborating to revitalize Silent Hill. Previously, it was also reported by Video Game Chronicles that Konami is outsourcing its license to a separate Japanese team at the time.

In terms of other ambitions confirmed by Kojima Productions, video games are not the only focus. Back in November, the developer opened a new film, television, and music branch in California. Its first project has yet to be reveal as of writing. You can read the full report by heading here.

Are you surprised by the turn of events from Kojima’s post?
