Worms Armageddon – Anniversary Edition comes to consoles on September 26

Team17 Digital and Digital Eclipse appeared at the Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase on Tuesday announcing Worms Armageddon – Anniversary Edition. This year marks the 25th anniversary of Worms Armageddon and the game will now arrive on modern consoles.

Worms Armageddon – Anniversary Edition will be released on September 26, 2024, and will now allow console players a chance to get stuck into the artillery insanity of worms, for the first time. There are a lot of enhancements to the game with lots of quality-of-life improvements and a redesigned UI across all platforms.

• Optimized controller support for all consoles.

• Achievements and Trophies

• New display features such as modern aspect ratios, custom screen filters, enhanced HD and graphics options.

• Fully playable Game Boy Color version of Worms Armageddon

• An interactive museum that charts the history of the entire series. Featuring never-before-seen interviews with developers of the original and current games.

• New save system

Worms Armageddon – Anniversary Edition will come to Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. It will have online support allowing up to six players to team up or compete against each other.

Online is cross-generation meaning PS4 and PS5 players can play against each other as well as Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S players.
