Confirmed: Grand Theft Auto VI Is Still Planned To Launch Fall 2025

With a wait of more than a decade, Rockstar Games officially revealed Grand Theft Auto VI in December 2023. And although the game has been cooking for longer than any other installment in the series, many are still skeptical of the framed 2025 release window for the game. Previously, parent company Take-Two Interactive did confirm the game is planned to ship sometime in fall 2025 more specifically.

And still, there are fans not holding their breaths on that statement. This past September, while still left in the air on the plans for Grand Theft Auto VI’s release, insider Jason Schreier did indicate that this coming fall is still on the table for the new game. And, it does make sense as it was also confirmed the game entered the final stage of development previously as well.

As per Take-Two Interactive’s FY25 Q3 earnings report, Grand Theft Auto VI is still intended to release this fall. While not gathered when exactly, neither it nor Rockstar Games are budging on the promised time of release. “Looking ahead, this calendar year is shaping up to be one of the strongest ever for Take-Two, as we plan to launch Sid Meier’s Civilization VII on February 11th, Mafia: The Old Country in the Summer, Grand Theft Auto VI in the Fall, and Borderlands 4,” CEO Strauss Zelnick issued in a statement.

Despite Take-Two Interactive still standing firmly on this new date, there is still the chance that Grand Theft Auto VI could face a potential delay. While already confirmed to be close to the finish line internally at Rockstar Games, there is other elements that interfere with releasing on time. For one, the SAG-AFTRA strike that has been going on which still carried over into 2025 also.

Another thing, the firm also verified that Grand Theft Auto VI is not releasing on all major platforms when the game arrives. There is still the PC version that has yet to be announced properly. But, it appears that Take-Two Interactive has hinted at the platform eventually coming to the platform. You can read the full report by heading here.
