The upcoming Devil May Cry title being revealed back at this year’s E3 following with a gameplay debut later at Gamescom, there was a lot to see for next year’s anticipated hack and slash. But what we only got snippets of was Dante, the original star of the franchise as Nero got most of the spotlight. Now we got to see Sparda’s son in action in the latest trailer from the recent Tokyo Game Show.
In the trailer it starts out with panning towards the iconic Devil May Cry shop from the previous games as Dante accepts another contract to exterminate some demons. Showcasing some combos with series known weapons like Rebellion and Ifrit make a return into the upcoming title. As well as the Shotgun that has been introduced in every game since the original 2001 title. Tailing along with Dante’s Devil Trigger as he molds into Sparda.
We even see the trailer touch up on combat with Dante’s motorcycle as it can now be used as a melee weapon. Transforming into a two-handed motorized cutlasses or even riding the motorbike in combat. You can do a donut and sweep the legs of the underworld’s minions. This being one of the more creative features coming to the 2019 game.
In the trailer, we also tap into some lore for the game as we see both Trish and Lady make an appearance. But for gameplay of the two characters, that wasn’t revealed unfortunately. We also learn that following Nico’s introduction to Dante, that her grandmother was the one who crafted his handguns, Ebony & Ivory.

Near the end we also get a look at the unknown third playable character V. Revealed for the Deluxe Edition of the game, you will have four additional Devil Breaker weapons, one being Mega Man’s Mega Blaster. Other goodies that will come with the edition of the game will feature a live action cutscene, 12 battle tracks from the first four games, alternative style rank announcers with title calls, and Cavaliere R for Dante.
Devil May Cry V will be available on March 9, 2019 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
