Prior to working at Blizzard, now ex-developer Ben Brode said back in April that he will be pursuing a new studio that he has co-founded with Hamilton Chu which is now Second Dinner. More lately in celebration of the development team securing funding along with a studio based in Irvine, California, Brode as revealed that the upcoming title will be a Marvel game.
Following the announcement video being posted, there is no detail to what the title might be or what it could be about. Looking at the previous experience the majority of the team has focuses around Hearthstone, which could lead to suspect that the new project could revolve around being a digital table top title.
Reading from the studio’s website, the new title vaguely details:
“We’re partnering with Marvel on our first game. I know what you’re thinking: ‘WHAAAT?!!? You get to make a game with Hellcow the vampiric cow and Throg, the Mighty Frog of Thunder??’”, the description reads. “Yes. Yes we do. Also Spider-Man and the Avengers and the X-Men. We’re working on the prototype already and we think it might just be the most fun thing ever in the history of fun.”
Seeing how involved Marvel has been recently with licensed titles, this new forthcoming addition will definitely be intriguing to see when more is released. With Square Enix set to debut an upcoming Avengers title sometime soon along with the Nintendo Switch exclusive Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, there is plenty for fans all around when the time comes.
There is now time frame revealed for the unnamed Marvel title from Second Dinner.
