The overall identity of the upcoming Persona 5 Royal was left unknown kicking off 2019 as Atlus inched towards just sharing the name of the title. Now, it seems that the industry cannot go a few days without a new trailer for characters that will be featured in the coming title as of recently: in the latest trailer, however, Morgana gets some screen time and introduces a new persona to the series.
As mentioned before, the respected characters that already received their own trailer prior are the main cast for the upcoming game and it wouldn’t be exactly Persona 5 without Morgana, the installment’s titled mascot, without his own trailer as well.
After the discussion between Joker and Morgana, the feline then introduces his persona Diego in the trailer. It should also be noted that his persona also shares the same civilian name that Zorro uses. For the remainder of the trailer, not much on the newly introduced Diego was presented following the brief battle after making his appearance in the showcase.
Previously, Atlus announced that Persona 5 will be making an appearance on Nintendo Switch after all which relieved many fans on Nintendo’s platform who highly anticipated the title come to the hybrid handheld console. However, the title will be coming as Persona 5 Scramble which is an action RPG that breaks the more traditional gameplay structure that the series is known for.
Persona 5 Royal is listed for an October 31, 2019 release date in Japan for PlayStation 4. The West will receive a following release in 2020.
