Throughout this course of the ongoing console generation, developer Crytek has not held a strong positioning releasing projects in contrast to previously released hardware. In specifics, I’m referencing when the initial Crysis series released for the preceding Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Although the team has prominent footing with the release of Warface which made its way to newer systems alongside the initial Xbox One exclusive launch title Ryse: Son of Rome, Crytek has not been in favor of known teams lately.

However, it looks that fans are beginning to reminisce on what the company has done as of late. In a recent tweet made by the Crysis official Twitter account, many are intrigued that the post was made after the profile be desolate since 2016. Today, the account reemerged with a simple reading “RECEIVING DATA.”

Following the momentum that trailed by the two-worded tweet, fans have began sharing excitement of speculated guesses for what might come for the series since the last entry releasing back in 2013. Some users predict that there might be a fourth entry on the way while other project the idea of a potential franchise reboot to reintroduce Crysis to a new bevy of players.

Users online also dismiss the excitement just to tease people who are impatiently waiting for a new game: a few tossing the idea of a simple rerelease for the original trilogy for modern hardware. What makes the simplicity of the post fun is that no one knows really exactly what to expect, so speculation is all we can lean on for the time being.

But what should keep fans on their toes is that this is tactic developers use to rile its player base for the coming future. For who might not remember, CD Projekt Red did something similar with Cyberpunk 2077 tweeting “*beep*” which instantly put the internet into an excitement fit for the game back in 2018. So there is the possibility for more to arise from this to follow suit when reflecting on other studios; just to keep that on the back burner for now.

Did you play the Crysis before on older systems?

The latest installment in sci-fi shooter series, Crysis 3, released in 2013 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
