It seems like it is that time of the year, again, as Activision has begun sending Crash Bandicoot-related gifts to different users across the internet recently. For those who might not be up to date with this pattern, the publisher is known for doing this as they have done the same years prior leading up to the release of games like Spyro Reignited Trilogy and last year’s Crash Team Racing.
Now according to a handful of influencers online, they have been mailed a bevy of different Crash Bandicoot memorabilia such as replicated statues or Pop! Funko figures of the starring marsupial. Thanks to twitter user @Canadianguyehh, he compiled seven different images of what is going on.
Now that we know there is something on the way, the only question is when exactly will Activision plan on spilling the beans? Well one likely culprit looks to be this Tuesday’s PlayStation State of Play live presentation. As we are more than familiar with the publisher’s marketing agreement with Sony Interactive Entertainment with previous nostalgic remakes, the chances are pretty high of seeing this revealed during the last online event for 2019.
However, another chance might also be at this year’s Game Awards also if not during the Direct-inspired PlayStation presentation. It was during last year’s annual award ceremony that Activision announced Crash Team Racing for its 2019-scheduled release, so that should also be taken into consideration as well.
Regardless of which event that the unannounced game will be show off at, it would be very surprising if the game manages not to be shown at either, wouldn’t you say due to the chances?
What of the Crash Bandicoot catalogue would you like to receive the remake treatment next?
