Just last year, the impossible occurred when Capcom officially announced that Devil May Cry will be coming to the first Nintendo console ever on Nintendo Switch. The near two decade wait finally ended as the original 2001 title was scheduled to release in just a few weeks. However, it came to realization that only the first game was being released while the remaining two of the original trilogy have yet to be discussed.

Regardless, Capcom eventually did the same for Devil May Cry 2 with a respected port for the notorious sequel just this past September. And now with Devil May Cry 3 on the way, what is more that can be expected? Well apparently there is something else planned for the arrival of the 2005 title scheduled for this February.

According to a tweet made by Capcom Producer Matt Walker, there are more than a couple things that the team will be sharing regarding the Devil May Cry 3 release for Nintendo Switch.

“We know that this game holds a very special place in all of your hearts and so we wanted to show our appreciation – I guess you can see we were feeling a little motivated to add a little something extra that we think you’re all really going to like. So here are the key dates to circle on your calendar to check back for more info.” Walker then goes on to discloses that what he teases will be shred on three separate dates: January 16, January 30, and February 13.

Considering the possibilities that might be at hand regarding the Switch port, more exclusive capabilities for the game might be announced for the hack and slash. For starters, motion controls would be a niché as the previous two ports don’t offer the implementation. Another being HD rumble which is a more miniscule addition, but still appreciated nonetheless.

One announcement could potentially be bigger than just the single port, it might concern all three: with the final date being set just a week ahead of the third game’s release for Switch, perhaps Capcom is priming a reveal of the HD Collection for the hybrid handheld console? Currently, Switch owners can only purchase the games individually which equals to roughly $60 USD as users on other platforms pay less than half of that with the trilogy bundle.

What do you think might be announced later these coming weeks?

Devil May Cry 3 is slated to launch on Nintendo Switch on February 20, 2020.
