In the recent weeks, Facebook is making large changes to how the social media giant is identified. In that, the overarching company is rebranding to Meta. Part of that means change will come to many of the subsidiary platforms that follow behind the firm. For one, Oculus is to face drastic changes to its identity as Facebook CTO Andrew Bosworth confirms the virtual reality division is to adopt the Meta label.

As for other following features of then-Facebook, those are to remain unphased as Meta established the connected ‘metaverse’ best phrased by CEO Mark Zuckerberg. So elements such as Facebook (the social media platform) and Instagram are to keep its name under the new adjustment. But moving forward, the firm is now incorporating more ways for creators to benefit from these platforms.

Already, the Facebook Creator Program welcomes users to profit off of its content on Facebook. Also intertwined with Facebook Gaming, creators would earn revenue based on interactivity per month. But in a new statement from the group, users can now collect 100 percent of profits made without Facebook taking its cut.

We’re offering creators the ability to direct people to a website to complete their Subscriptions purchase using Facebook Pay. When people purchase Subscriptions from this website on web or mobile, creators will be able to keep 100% of the money they earn, excluding taxes. Creators can find their personalized promotional link in Creator Studio, which they can share with their audiences, including over email or text.

We’ll also make it easier for creators to understand their Subscriptions payouts and the fees they pay. We plan to launch an estimated earnings breakdown that will show creators where their purchases come from, estimated taxes and how much they pay to Apple and others in fees. These metrics are already available for paid online events.

In retrospect, this benefits several former Mixer streamers that transitioned over to Facebook Gaming. Previously, Microsoft shut down its video game streaming platform and arranged with Facebook at the time to offer open arms to users that found a standing over at Mixer then. Additionally, this move also welcomes a new ‘Subscription’ badge for followers of respected creators.

Earlier this year, we witnessed a similar generosity from Microsoft for one of its platforms. While not an entire 100 percent, the firm increased its creator payback to developers on the Windows 10 Store from 70% to 88%. You can read the full report by heading here.
