It feels a bit longer than two months now remembering when Respawn Entertainment officially released Season 2 Battle Charged for Apex Legends. And while fans indulging in the two separate timed events that appeared in King’s Canyon along the way, the third season is officially upon us now.
According to the game’s developer, Season 3 for Apex Legends is titled “Meltdown” with a release date aimed for October 1st. Of course, there is some news that the team has already shared with us as more has yet to be revealed with a later date in mind.
Digging into the meat of this announcement, Respawn revealed that the eleventh addition to the Legend roster is hacker-specialized Crypto. Sharing a brief back story trailer which introduces his cause to become a Legend, Crypto hosts a set of abilities which alter his surrounding and enemy equipment towards short circuit. And with some speculation surrounding the trailer’s setting, there is the possibility of Angel City possibly being intertwined with Season 3, but that has yet to be properly detailed.
Meltdown as well will feature a new Battle Pass which is described to offer “Over 100 exclusive items including Legendary skins, Apex Packs, new Battle Pass content making a Season 3 debut.” A new weapon, the Charged Rifle will also be making its debut as yet another Titanfall weapon joins the game’s growing arsenal. Ranked will also be joining with a second series that evolves what you already know about competitive Apex Legends already.
More information for Season 3 is said to be revealed closer to when meltdown initiates, so within the next week and a half will introduce the finer details of this approaching update.
Apex Legends is out now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
