Fox McCloud will be in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie

This morning, Nintendo and Illumination made the surprise announcement that Fox McCloud will be featured in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie when it comes to theaters on April 1.

The Star Fox icon hasn’t received a game since the Nintendo Wii U era with Star Fox Zero and Star Fox Guard. It’s even more of a surprise that Fox McCloud is in the Mario movie because many wouldn’t view him as a “Mario universe” character.

It hasn’t been revealed how much involvement he would have in the film. It could just be something minor. However, it’s very interesting that this announcement was made in this fashion. While we were looking forward to seeing Rosalina for the first time, we have even more to look forward to.

Could this be the start of the return of the Star Fox franchise?
