Nintendo made a surprise announcement today that it will be performing a test related to a new feature coming to Nintendo Switch Online. The playtest for this feature will begin on October 23 at 6:00 PM PT / 9:00 PM ET to November 5.
Existing Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members will be able to apply to participate in this test. However, it will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. The signup period will be from October 10 to October 15. Players must be at least 18 years of age as of October 9, 2024.

To participate in this test your Nintendo Account must be registered in Japan, U.S., the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, or Spain. There is an application page that can be found here.
Customers that are selected will need to download exclusive software to their own Nintendo Switch console in order to participate in this test.
Nintendo did not specify what this test is specifically for, but many assume this could be another Switch Online library coming. Could the DS or Wii library finally be coming? That remains to be seen.
