Oculus Connect 6: Insomniac Games’ Stormland Slated For November Release On Oculus Rift

Marvel’s Spider-Man developer Insomniac Games is currently in the last segment of the development for their upcoming VR project, Stormland. Announced this week at Oculus Connect 6, Oculus showcased the game by revealing that the game will be officially arriving this Fall in mid-November for Facebook’s virtual reality platform.

Pre-orders for the game are currently up on the Oculus Store with a $39.99 price tag, however, those who pay ahead of the game’s release are also granted a few extra goodies as well. Players will receive a handful of digital statues from the game to decorate their Oculus Home upon paying the pre-order fee.

There are a total of five different statues that will be rewarded for pre-ordering: Eco, Nix, Riggs, Sypher, and Vesper.

Insomniac Games despite the studio’s new venue under Sony Interactive Entertainment following the developer’s acquisition back in August will still be releasing Stormland exclusively on Oculus’ platform. While fans might have hoped this would sway the game to also release for PlayStation VR, the game is currently scheduled to release only on Oculus for the time being. Insomniac did state that the game will be coming to Oculus Rift this Holiday, but did not directly deny a version for PlayStation in the future.

Oculus during the presentation finally pulled the curtain on Respawn Entertainment’s partnered title with the announcement of Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond. The newest installment will have the original writer on board for the game’s development along with real veterans of the Second World War to assist in the story aspect of the game.

Stormland will be available for Oculus Rift on November 14, 2019.
