In celebration of the Resident Evil 2 Remake releasing today, it should be noted that a skin pack will be coming sometime later giving players the option to play the original models from the classic 1998 title. On top of the PlayStation-looking skins on the way, a new mode for the completely reworked title will be arriving also at an unspecified time.
In a recent Capcom Japan livestream, it was revealed that both Leon and Clara will be receiving their classic skins for the 2019 released for players in Japan if purchasing a resident Evil 2 Original Design PlayStation Store Card. You can check out the images of the skins below:
Other news released from the stream also announced that a new mode will be on the way as well. The mode titled ‘The Ghost Survivors’, is a free update that will come as a side story campaign. The cost free DLC will have Robert Kendo returning along with the Mayor’s daughter and “a mysterious U.S.S. member”.
The skins will be exclusive until March 22nd, then everyone else will be able to download the ’98 skins for free. For when the new story arc mode will be available has not been detailed.
Resident Evil 2 Remake is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
