This June marked the sixth-year anniversary since the release of Batman Akrham Knight. And while Rocksteady Studios has quietly worked on a new game since then, it was not until last summer that the British game studio unveiled Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Yes, it is a similarly structured experience that Marvel’s Avengers with the Batman Arkham DNA injected into its veins.
In the past, it was later discovered that despite the game releasing beyond the release date of Xbox Series & PlayStation 5 hardware, it will not be arriving with Unreal Engine 5 as its propriety engine. Additionally, fans ahead of DC Fandome this year witnessed the box art for the new release followed by in-engine footage of the new game.
But at The Game Awards, the first instance of gameplay was revealed at the Thursday event. You can watch the footage in the video below:
Ahead of the show going live this week, Rocksteady Studios game director Sefton Hill told that the gameplay reveal would take place via an announcement on Twitter. However, despite the heads up on the trailer, fans still did not expect what was presented in the footage from the new trailer.
Additionally, Warner Bros. Games did not stop there. With Monolith Productions, the Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor & Middle-earth: Shadow of War team revealed it is working on a new Wonder Woman project. Even more, the nemesis system from its previous work is told to be incorporated into the new game as well. You can read the full report by heading here.
