Playtonic Games, the developers of the Banjo-Kazooie-inspired platformer, Yooka-Laylee announced that Yooka-Replaylee will be coming to consoles and PC earlier this year. Today, the studio shared a new gameplay trailer and in the announcement what caught everyone’s attention was that it will be released on “Nintendo”.
They didn’t specifically mention the Nintendo Switch, which could indicate they plan to release it on the Switch Successor, which is rumored to be released in 2025. A release date for the remake has not been announced. Fans can expect to play it on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
The new gameplay trailer gives a first look at the Tribalstack Tropics and Glitterglaze Glacier along with a glimpse at the platforming and gameplay improvements, tweaked challenges, new characters, the new currency (Q.U.I.D.S) and the visual overhaul to everything from the characters to the world as well as the UI/HUD.
Here are the Key Features for Yooka-Replaylee:

- REVISED CONTROLS & CAMERA – A new tweaked move set allows you to combine moves more fluidly while the new camera controls makes framing the action a breeze.
- A DREAMY ORCHESTRAL SOUNDTRACK – The original score from famed video game composers Grant Kirkhope (Banjo-Kazooie) and David Wise (Donkey Kong Country) returns but as a beautifully arranged orchestral score. Now seriously, clean out those ears.
