While the ongoing tensions continue to grip individuals effected by the COVID-19 pandemic across the globe, avid video game players had plenty to look forward to. With the Nintendo Switch in specifics, the platform when stress began for the novel coronavirus shipped Animal Crossing: New Horizons which became one of the most top selling releases to date this year alongside the entirety of the platform.

Looking ahead, the firm also remarks that other properties are still on the way for this year. Such as the long-awaited No More Heroes III from Grasshopper Manufacture. Announce back during June last year, the third entry would bring back Travis Touchdown as he slays new enemies with his light saber skills. But, the wait looks to be longer than initially planned.

In a new post made by studio lead Goichi “Suda51” Suda, he announces that due to the difficulties of working during the crisis birthed by the virus, No More Heroes III will now be striving for a 2021 release.

“All staff members at Grasshopper have been working very hard as possible on developing the game in hopes of releasing in 2020, but the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic have unfortunately proven to be a real body blow to our schedule, causing unforeseen delays in development,” the letterhead reveals. “Now that we have managed to get back on our feet with development, we have decided to focus on prioritizing quality, and to therefore push back the final release date.

“We hope that everyone who has been waiting patiently for No More Heroes 3 can understand and accept this decision, and we will continue to put every effort into the title’s development as we shoot for a 2021 release date.” It was earlier this summer that Suda himself presented new gameplay for the now-delayed title, but stood in front of the action during its full duration.

Suda does disclose that despite the details being scarce with a longer wait time, the key art for No More Heroes III will be presented fairly soon in the coming future. As for other No More Heroes news, players waiting might have a backup plan as the original 2007 Wii title has been listed for Nintendo Switch in Taiwan. You can read the full report by heading here.
