While Microsoft is eager to grow its platform with the recent addition of cloud streaming with its in-house built xCloud, the platform holder is still aware of the tweaks that can be done over on its other ports of entry. Given the record-high revenue for hardware in its recent financial report earlier this week, the greater concern lies on PC.

Yes, the firm has pushed for users to use its Windows 10 platform as Xbox Game Pass on PC is surely a influencer for players to pick up. But the most recent approach is xCloud. While the service is recognized for streaming games via the cloud on mobile devices, PC is no different. Currently, the limited beta for xCloud’s browser-based application is live with an anticipated full release to happen later this year.

However, on the back-end of the Windows 10 platform, Microsoft announces to give more to the developers. In a new announcement on Thursday, Microsoft will be increasing its payout for sold games by nearly 20 percent, the Xbox company shares.

Game developers are at the heart of bringing great games to our players, and we want them to find success on our platforms. That’s why today we’re announcing that we’re updating our Microsoft Store terms for PC game developers.

As part of our commitment to empower every PC game creator to achieve more, starting on August 1 the developer share of Microsoft Store PC games sales net revenue will increase to 88%, from 70%. A clear, no-strings-attached revenue share means developers can bring more games to more players and find greater commercial success from doing so.

Last month, Microsoft pressed on its effort to create a more inclusive ecosystem for its platforms with the Xbox Network. However, concern swiftly arose as many presumed that Xbox Live would be disappearing. But, the company later commented that the original service will still remain following future plans.

In the same Xbox Wire post, Microsoft also went on to confirm that Halo Infinite will be welcoming cross-platform play and cross-platform progression at launch as well. You can read the full report by heading here.
