Throughout the video game industry, collaborations grow beyond the confines of television screen in present time as major publisher reach to expand its most prominent IPs in new ways. Namely, Lego continues to incorporate its plastic block formula for some of the most prevalent video game franchises. Previously, Nintendo and Lego worked in a partnership to deliver a Super Mario set a few years back.

Following we witnessed the same energy rejoice with a similar set starring Super Mario’s brother Luigi as well. More notably is the recent announcement earlier on in 2021 revealing a new Lego Super Mario 64 set. Unlike previous adaptations, the bundle reveals to be a conglomerate of Super Mario 64 settings which opens up from one large mystery block made exclusively out of Legos.

And while the Nintendo mascot received his spotlight with Lego, now its Sega’s turn with the reveal of the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog lego set. You can watch the trailer in the tweet below:

“Celebrate a pop culture icon and showcase the gameplay of a true classic with this LEGO Ideas Sonic the Hedgehog – Green Hill Zone model (21331). Enjoy quality time with no distractions, recreating authentic details of the Green Hill Zone, including a palm tree, bridge loop, rings, TV screens, Dr. Eggman’s Eggmobile and a spring for Super Sonic Jumps,” the description reads for the set.

“Arrange the level in your own way and bring it to life with a Sonic the Hedgehog minifigure and Dr. Eggman, Moto Bug and Crabmeat figures. Step-by-step building instructions are included and – like in the game – you collect Chaos Emeralds as you progress. A display stand for the 7 Emeralds and Sonic minifigure completes a colorful centerpiece. All in all, it’s the best Sonic nostalgia gift for yourself or any fan.”

Recently, fresh footage for the newest Sonic the Hedgehog game was revealed earlier in December. From The Game Awards, Sega unveiled the new sprawling greens the makes up the newly titled Sonic Frontiers which is set to release sometime in fall 2022. You can read the full report by heading here.
