Sony Projects More Than Double Revenue For First-Party PC Releases Come Next Fiscal Year

Currently, PlayStation’s next target to capitalize is aiming for live-service. Many fans witnessed this with the announcements at the recent PlayStation Showcase. This includes the likes of Haven Studios’ Fairgame$, Firewalk Studios’ Condor, and Bungie’s Marathon. Beyond this respect, the PlayStation firm has already imbedded itself in PC for roughly two years now. The launch of its PC domain further established the commitment. 

In 2023 alone, Sony Interactive Entertainment continued its support on Steam with the launch of Returnal & The Last of Us Part I. And that is still part of a larger ongoing momentum. Looking to this summer, Insomniac Games’ Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is shipping for PC come this July. Of course, this will likely not be the last launch this year for the platform from PlayStation Studios.

Glancing over at the recent financial report from corporate Sony, it reveals the continue effort on PC will double by the next fiscal year, according to projections filed by Sony itself. As newer titles begin to migrate over to Steam, it very well could happen. You can view the slide in the image below:

Reiterating on the matter of live-service, the PlayStation firm appeared to hit a speedbump recently. From Naughty Dog, the Uncharted developer revealed its upcoming multiplayer project ‘Factions II’ is asking for more time than anticipated. The game was an anticipated feature for the PlayStation Showcase, but never appeared.

Elsewhere recently, Sony also coined in on its success with PlayStation Plus. In the same report, it revealed that over 14 million subscribers are part of the larger tiers; 6.1 million for Extra & 8.1 million for Premium. You can read the full report by heading here.
