When it comes to PlayStation 5 one of the features that has been lacking is the ability to play older PlayStation games via backwards compatibility. A new report has surfaced that Sony is planning on bringing select PS3 games to PlayStation 5 with no cloud streaming required.

According to Nick Baker from the XboxEra Podcast, Sony is working on bringing select PlayStation 3 games to PlayStation 5 via backward compatibility. It’s unsure if these games would have an FPS boost or other improvements like we’ve seen with Xbox backward-compatible titles in the past. It is speculated that these would be first-party games, but it remains to be seen.

When or if Sony does bring PS3 games to its latest console, fans might have to re-purchase them again if they are feeling nostalgic and want to dive back into a classic.

Like always we have to take reports like this with a grain of salt.
