On the PlayStation 5, it is no secret that new features are added to the platform. One of the most recent is the anniversary themes there were available for a limited time. However, there is a plan to return at a later date permanently. Although removed back in January, the PlayStation firm does express that the comeback will be fairly soon.
As for the PlayStation 5 on a system stand point, Sony Interactive Entertainment has been hosting its own beta program for roughly five years. In that, users have been able to sample and review the new features that come to the platform when officially patched in. And now there are plans to revamp the beta program with PlayStation’s effort on PC now in its perspective.
This week, Sony Interactive Entertainment shares its plans to recenter its PlayStation 5 beta program. “I’m pleased to introduce the Beta Program at PlayStation initiative. It’s an easier, more consolidated way for gamers to sign up to participate in future PlayStation betas across a wide range of PlayStation experiences,” Sony Interactive Entertainment content communications senior director Sid Shuman writes.
“The Beta Program at PlayStation will create an easy, centralized place for you to register your interest in a range of future PlayStation betas. A single registration for Beta Program at PlayStation will allow you to express interest in gaining beta access to test participating games for the PS5 console and PC, new PS5 console features, PlayStation App features, and even user experience features on PlayStation.com. You only need to sign up once to express interest in these various betas, and if you receive an invitation to a specific beta, it’s up to you to decide whether you’d like to participate or not.”
It further explains on the official website: “Play your part in testing new on-console functionality, system software and innovations. This may include appraising features, providing feedback on design and usability, or participating in surveys about existing features and cutting-edge concepts. […] Help us evolve and enhance our mobile app by evaluating current features, experimenting with new updates and designs, and letting us know what you think.”
Adding: “Be among the first to explore exciting new website features, content and updates, and give us your feedback to help shape an even better online experience for everyone.” Game testing on both console & PC is also a focal point emphasized on the website. “Get access to new games and give us your expert opinion to influence improvements before release day. Testing focus areas may include game concepts, and trials at early, mid, or later stages of game development. […] Get your hands on new games at various stages of development to help us create incredible PlayStation experiences on PC.”
