In October 2024, Nintendo held a Nintendo Switch Online Playtest Program, which was one of the more mysterious events they’ve had. When the test was held, it was for an unnamed MMO. We still aren’t sure what that test was meant for.
However, Nintendo announced they are bringing back the Switch Online Playtest Program this time, including Switch 2 players and more players overall. Starting Monday, July 21, Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members can apply to participate in the playtest program. It is on a first-come, first-served basis.
This Nintendo playtest is expected to accept 40,000 participants worldwide, compared to the 10,000 it had in October.
The playtest period for the Nintendo Switch Online Playtest Program will be from Monday, July 28 to Sunday, August 10.
To qualify for this program, you must have an active Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership as of Thursday, July 17. You must be 18 years of age or older and your account must be registered in Japan, United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Canada, Brazil, or Mexico.
Players can sign up for the Playtest Program here.
What do you think these tests could be for?
