Destiny Rising Arrives To Android, iOS In Late August 2025

The state of Bungie currently is continued to be put into question. The original developers of Halo went on to be acquired by PlayStation in 2022 has since then faced new obstacles. While still releasing new content for its live-service Destiny 2, the game studio is also piecing together a reboot for its Marathon franchise as well.

Announced for a September 2025 release date originally, there was plenty of hesitancy once players received their first look at the new title. Although imbedded with many Bungie characteristics, it was flawed. Enough so that a delay was issued. Alongside the two projects, a new Destiny title has been in development in collaboration with NetEase Games for some time.

Revealed as ‘Destiny Rising’, the game would be a mobile exclusive release. In July, it was announced that Destiny Rising will ship in the latter half of August 2025. You can watch the new release date trailer in the video below:

“The time for a new generation of Lightbearers to take a stand is almost here, with players soon able to dive into an all new story in the Destiny franchise. Set in an alternate timeline before the events of the original game, Destiny: Rising is the start of a whole new saga that anyone can jump in and enjoy, with players able to shape a future that has yet to be written,” the blog posts says.

The description for the game reads: “Destiny: Rising delivers the iconic looter-shooter gameplay from the Destiny franchise to mobile platforms, featuring missions, strikes, PvP battles, and six-player PvE activities along with a variety of open world objectives. The game will offer players dynamic and challenging single, co-op, and competitive multiplayer gameplay, including beloved game modes familiar to Destiny players, and all-new modes that introduce new ways to play Destiny.”

NetEase Games continues: “In the run-up to launch, Destiny: Rising is holding a pre-registration event where people who register their interest can unlock special bonuses when the game launches. This event unlocks more rewards with each player milestone, with current pre-orders hitting 5 million players! This means that players will receive 10 free draws when Destiny: Rising launches.”
