In the modern gaming era, we have seen Xbox and PlayStation have Achievements and Trophies since the days of Xbox 360 and PS3. The only platform that does not include the Achievement system is Nintendo Switch. According to a new patent, the Switch might be getting Achievements and more.
It was first brought up by Spanish leaker Nash Weedle that Nintendo Switch Online could be adding a new system that includes Rewards for the games you play, Points can be redeemed for rewards, and some rewards can be unlocked by completing in-game Achievements.
It was pointed out by GoNintendo that a Nintendo patent was published on September 4th, 2025, and it included things such as an achievement-like system. It likely wouldn’t be the same as on Xbox, PlayStation, or PC, but it would give players something to do in-game.
Based on these reports, the Achievement system for Switch would be a Nintendo Switch Online exclusive feature. It remains to be seen if they will follow through with this plan.
As usual, we must take this with a grain of salt until Nintendo makes the announcement official.
Would you like to see Achievements on Nintendo Switch 2?
