Bethesda’s Fallout is currently at an all-time high thanks to the delivery of the Amazon Prime television series. Recently, Bethesda revealed a new story update for Fallout 76 – Burning Springs. The add-on is to feature a new storyline set in Ohio as players can interact with Walton Goggins’ The Ghoul. Scheduled to release this winter, Bethesda promised more details will be spared soon. It was already scheduled a Fallout Day Broadcast will take place where it is likely new information is to be release.
Now following the livestream, Bethesda confirms the update is to release later this December ahead of Fallout Season 2 on December 17th. Also, Xbox Series X|S & PlayStation 5 versions of Fallout 76 are coming in 2026. You can watch the new Burning Springs trailer in the video below:
“Ohio is a desert wasteland now. Burning Springs wasn’t ever really explored in the past Fallout games, so this is all new territory for us.” As players discover more of Burning Springs, they will also learn of the area’s history and how it fits into Fallout’s greater post-nuclear world,” says creative director Jonathan Rush describing the new setting.
“This update introduces Bounty Hunting missions to Fallout 76, allowing players to join up on a series of contracts hunting down Appalachia’s most wanted. Stumbling into Burning Springs to get you started is none other than The Ghoul, the equally mysterious and deadly gunslinger from the Fallout television series! (Voiced by Walton Goggins, himself!) Adventurers will cross paths with The Ghoul in Highway Town, a bustling community hub located in the heart of Burning Springs,” an overview for the update shares.
