It’s been no secret for the last couple of years that Call of Duty will be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 eventually. Since Microsoft acquired Activision in 2023, they made a 10-year deal with Nintendo that would guarantee Call of Duty arriving on the platform consistently.
A new job listing on LinkedIn at Sledgehammer Games revealed they are looking for a Senior Technical Artist who has AAA Mobile or “Switch experience”. The job listing shows this as part of the “Bonus XP” section, so it’s not necessarily required. However, this shows us the developer is slowly starting to look for more talented individuals who have worked with this type of console.
Here is what the Bonus XP section listed as part of the Sledgehammer Games job listing:
- Knowledge of how content impacts performance
- AAA Mobile or Switch experience
- Experience with live service games
- C++, C# experience
- Experience with node-based shader creation in Unreal or another engine
- Experience with continuous-delivery game pipelines
- Examples of professional work (e.g., art, scripts, tools, simulations, etc.)
- Understanding of coding best practices and efficiency
- Understanding of HLSL, GLSL, or other shading languages
- Has trained or mentored others
When Will Call of Duty Arrive On Switch 2?
Activision, Microsoft, or Nintendo has not yet revealed when we could see Call of Duty finally arrive on the platform. We could still be a couple of years away since the Switch 2 was only released this year, and some third-party developers were late in getting development kits.
Will you play Call of Duty on Nintendo Switch 2?
