Xbox One Backward Compatibility
Revealed back at E3 2015 with an amazing fan response, BC program arrived on Xbox One in November 2015 with a lot of great titles. Today with more than 300+ titles available ranging from fan favorites like Red Dead Redemption, Dead Space, Halo Wars, Halo Reach, Black Ops, and much more. Unlike PS NOW which the players pay for games they already owned, on Xbox One the backward compatibility is FREE to enjoy if you own the title on Xbox 360 digitally or retail.
How does it work?
The digital titles that you own and are part of the Back Compatibility game catalog will automatically show up in the “Ready to Install” section on your Xbox One. For disc-based games that are a part of the Back Compat game catalog, insert the disc and the console will begin downloading the game to your hard drive. After the game has downloaded to your hard drive, users will still need to keep the game disc in the drive to play.
Xbox team delivers new BC games on a weekly basis. Make sure to stay tuned to our Twitter to get the latest BC games as they come out!
