PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has taken the PC community by storm. Since its release back in March on Steam, the game has sold an outstanding 6 million copies hitting 422k players simultaneously. In an interview with Eurogamer, PlayerUnknown himself gave some Xbox One goodies keeping everyone hungry for more information.
When asked for a time-frame on Xbox One release date, Brendan “PlayerUnknown” Greene responded, “We will announce the release date when we’re ready. That’s for the big people in PR and marketing to tell me when I can say [laughs]. You’ll find out when you find out.”
Bluehole [PUBG] developers have a partner in Spain helping to port the game to Xbox One, Brendan revealed – “There’s optimization that we need and we have a partner in Anticto, in Spain. There’s about four or five of them working on the console version at the moment. They’re very clever guys. They’ve helped us with a lot of features on the current game mod and for console. It’s great, we have them working on that and the main team is still focused heavily on the PC version.”
Eurogamer asked Brendan if 100 players worked on console to which PlayerUnknown replied, “We have a version running on the Xbox One X prototype in the office which can plug into the online servers. We were playing on live servers on the console at about 30 or 40 FPS. So it works on 100 man servers.”
