At the beginning of 2019, the industry was heartbroken when the masses discovered that then-standing President for Nintendo of America Reggie Fils-Aime would be stepping down from his position of the North American division of the company to retire later in April. With ironically-named Doug Bowser taking his position that Spring, Reggie’s departure is still something that many Nintendo fans are still trying to overcome.

However, despite Reggie leaving Nintendo for roughly half a year now, he will be returning to the gaming industry one more time for this year’s Game Awards; announcing today that he will be presenting during the annual awards ceremony.

Noted, this only means that Fils-Aime will be at the show to reveal the winning nominee for one of the handful of categories that will be presented during the show. So any hopes that Reggie would reveal something related to Nintendo that he might have insight on from his time with the company is very unlikely to happen since he retired from Nintendo. Despite that, it does not debunk any chances of Nintendo revealing a game announcement of some sort as the company will be ready to share something this Thursday.

Fils-Aime is known for his lasting impression from his time working at Nintendo ranging from the product that launched since taking his position back in 2006 to memorable moments he shared through press conferences and skits that Nintendo uploaded throughout the years. So another moment alike could be expected to spawn from his upcoming appearance at the show.

What are you most excited about Reggie’s attendance at The Game Awards?

The Game Awards will be live at 5:30 PM PST / 8:30 PM EST on December 12, 2019.
