It was earlier this year in June at Microsoft’s annual E3 press conference that the company along with developer Moon Studios officially revealed that the anticipated story-driven platformer Ori and the Will of the Wisps will be coming to Xbox and PC next year in February. But now, it looks that the game might have been pushed one month exactly with a few additions.

During this week’s Game Awards show, Microsoft presented a new trailer for the upcoming sequel and closed out the showing by revealing that the game will be arriving now in March than the initially slated February. While not specifically pointing as to why the push for a month extension on the title’s launch date, it is stated that the team will use “the extra time to ensure that Ori fans get the best gameplay experience possible.”

You can watch the new release date trailer below:

As for those new additions mentioned before, Ori and the Will of the Wisps will be arriving to Xbox, of course, atop of PC on Windows 10 and now Steam. While not completely framing what platforms the title will be on respectively, Steam is in fact a new additions to supported platforms for sure.

And with the newly positioned release for March, Moon Studios also revealed that there will be a Collector’s Edition for the title as well. Sharing that this pre-order alternative will offer a bevy of extra goodies for the bigger fans, such as: an official Art Book, physical copy of the game with an additional Piano Collections Music CD, MP3 Download for the game’s Soundtrack, themed Steelbook, and specialized packaging for the bundle.

Side note: due to the changing of the release date by one month exactly, the launch date is now on a Wednesday rather than the originally settled release on Tuesday in February. Just thought that was a bit unorthodox for the industry.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps will release on March 11, 2020 for Xbox One and PC.
