Sega Announces Sonic 2020 Initiative, New Related Announcement Every 20th For Each Month This Year

This year continues to shape into a very anticipating time for Sega’s Blue mascot Sonic the Hedgehog. Already less than a month away until the titular film starring Ben Schwartz and Jim Carrey is scheduled to arrive this Valentine’s Day, there is a new announcement that Sega made earlier this week.

To complement the arrival of 2020, Sega has revealed that the company will release a new tangent of information regarding Sonic the Hedgehog every 20th of each month for the entirety of this year. I know, the first date has already passed this Monday, but you did not miss much. Sega for January in conjunction with the announcement released a few phone savers/wallpapers for fans to download.

The first of 12 celebrations also included nearly two dozen character icons that you can use for you social media avatars. Additionally, Sega has opened a unique page for the Sonic 2020 initiative where you can expect the remaining 11 reveals to be contained in.

Even more, according to the press release which initially disclosed the Sonic project for this year, Sega tells that there will be other events that will be hosted throughout the course of the year. Sharing that fans should keep an extra eye out when the clock runs closer to 2021 as the 30th anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog franchise will be landing next year.

Projecting some expectations that could possibly make an appearance later this year, one plausible announcement is regarding the previously teased title that Sega poked fun at earlier this year. It was previously reported that the company left subliminal messages which leaves implications that the franchise is looking to redeem itself following the lesser desirable outcome of prior installments.
